I have an ambition to become a good writer in English because it is my passion. Though I couldn’t afford to go to school or even to take some courses to learn English, I decided to learn English through self-study. I know it is very, very difficult but nothing is impossible! Honestly, I’d started learning English wrongly before I found the right ways to learn. But nothing was going to stop me! I spend almost 8–9 hours to learn English every day. I know I spend a lot of time, but I love to learn new things! I am going to give you my ways to learn English that I am still using them to improve my English, and my English is getting better and better every day: with them. Though I still have some grammar mistakes, I am very proud of myself because I have tested my level In English, and I reached to level B2. That is amazing. Keep in mind, you can’t learn anything without a passion; you should work hard to learn or get anything. Okay, how I have learned English? I only follow these ways to learn English:

  • English Reading Skills

It is the most important skill in English. With this skill, you can learn the language easily, but it requires patience. I am going to tell you why. To improve this skill, you need to increase your English vocabulary and stop translating from English to your native language. I know you are saying: “What this guy is talking about!” Okay! I will tell you about my experience. After I had finished memorizing the most important 3000 words in English I went to learn English vocabulary through an English to English dictionary. Yeah! I use English to English dictionary every day because the most important 3000 words help me to understand the words’ definitions in English. It is called the Longman Dictionary. Why I use it to learn vocabulary? It’s the best dictionary I have ever seen, It contains 230.000 words, phrases, and meanings, as well as 165.000 examples based on real and natural English. Honestly, it helps me to learn English and increase my vocabulary very fast! Now let’s talk about what you will read to improve your English. I love reading so much: It is my passion! I read a lot of articles about business, marketing, grammar, and writing every day. How do I read in English without getting bored? I choose any article that I am interested to read about, then I choose from 3–5 words to look up in my dictionary. In my opinion, If you want to learn English and speak it fluently, read a lot of books and articles that are interesting to you. That’s everything I have been using to improve my reading skills since I started to learn the English language.

  • English Listening Skills

How I have improved my English listening skills. It’s the easiest skill in English, but a lot of English learners think it is the most difficult skill in English because they live in non-native speaking countries. I am going to give you the one useful resource that I use to improve my English listening skills: It is YouTube. It is the most important resource that helps me to improve my English listening skills; I use it because I love to listen to Islamic videos in English, as well as gaming channels that give me lots of new words every single day. I spend hours to watch Islamic and gaming channels on YouTube every day. I love it because it helps me to listen to native speakers and to participate with them in a comment section, as well. That was everything I have been using for months to improve my English speaking skills. As I told you, it is the easiest skill in English, but you should listen to a lot of English resources to improve it.

  • English Speaking Skills

To be honest with you, it was the most difficult skill I have ever seen because I couldn’t find anyone to speak with. I live in a country where no one can speak English. My dream was only to find one person to practice with! But I have found these resources where you can practice your English speaking skills with others and for free, they are HelloTalk App, OpenTalk App, Hallo App, and Talk4Free Website. I love these four resources to practice my English speaking skills because they are the best free resources available on the app stores and the internet.

  • Writing skills

Since I started speaking English, I have neglected my English writing skills. So I decided three days ago to write at least 300 words every day. Honestly, my English writing skills are very poor, and it needs more improvement and practice.

I will end this article with one more important thing. I know English learners especially those who are studying English through self-study, have a lot of questions and want anyone to give them some answers. I am going to give you the best website that can help you to find answers to your questions; it’s the Stack Overflow website, it contains a lot of communities, but we only need the English community. There you can find a lot of experts to help you, or you can find answers to your questions by searching about them.
